Would you sacrifice your morals because of fear? i believe that if you sacrifice your morals to fear then you shouldn't have morals at all to begin with. Morals are standards that we have as human beings and plus these standards make up how we run our life. There was a slave from Barbados named Tituba. She was victim to the Salem witch trials of 1692. when she was accused of being a witch she pleaded at first that she did not associate with the devil. That was her stating her morals to God. T he morals that she has, to not work side by side with devil only God. But unfortunately that did not help her case. It just got her beaten in the end. So then she confessed that she does consort with devil and that the devil made her feel free when she wasn't in reality.

Your probably thinking who is this telling you what you probably already know right? My name is Brittany Bell and Im a North Cobb student. My Ethos credibility to this; as a high school student i find my self questioning my morals sometimes especially in stuff that involves my beliefs. I personally think that for Tituba to sacrifice her morals for her fear i would say that was unfathomable to me. Tituba morals are completely sacrificed and she comes out in a intense hysteria blaming other people that they conspire with devil.

Emotionally i get why Tituba did it because she was being beaten until she confessed. So confessing to conspiring with devil was her only hope to saving her own butt. But she then starts naming people that she incriminates to be conspiring with devil. By doing that she looks like a coward trying to put the blame on someone else when she knows that those people didn't conspire with devil. By doing that she makes everyone else infamous when they have good reputations in the village. which is very pathetic. That goes against her morals sense God doesn't go convict other people of something that's not true.

The logic in this situation was that by confessing she had a chance to keep living but by stating that the others work with the devil; shes condemned everyone to hangings. Logically you see why she does this but at the same time shes convicting innocent people to die for something that's not true. Shes being aware of her social conscious because she copy's everyone else around her. Shes advocating with the rest of the girls and their false pretenses in seeing the devil while also.
